On this episode of the Innocence Redeemed podcast, myself and Glynda Lomax of Just Praise Him will be discussing distractions, prayerlessness, decreeing the Word of God and how to fight the enemy with the Sword of God’s Word.
After two days of fighting everything but the kitchen sink to get this recorded, we finally got it. Suffice to say, the enemy does NOT want you to hear this message. Many are having to contend with these attacks right now and both Glynda and myself pray it is a blessing to you! If interested, there is a link to decrees and prayers on the ‘Resources’ page of this site to help you get a head start in addition to the content provided in this podcast. Jesus Bless you.

Verses as they pertain/quoted in this podcast;

16 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.
18 Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;

Just wanted to say thank you to you and Glynda for this podcast, it has really taught me how to pray more effectively. I have been asking the Lord that I stink at prayers and need more help in this. I grew up Catholic and have since been saved many years ago after leaving this cult. I do call it a cult as they do NOT lead anyone to salvation and they idol worship Mary, that is all I am going to say on that. But since getting saved many years ago while in my 20s (now 50), I felt still so lost in many areas because no one tells you how to do these things, they just expect you to know how; the bible doesn’t exactly explain HOW to decree and the church definitely does not teach anything like this either. I feel like this will greatly help me and my walk with the Lord!
Amen Sarah. I would like to encourage you to remember there is no formal way that is set in stone where prayer is concerned. Just talk to Him. He loves when His children call upon Him!
One time I felt like I was putting too much thought into it and the Lord spoke to me and said, “My Son, speak what’s on your heart.” So this means that we should give thanks and praise to the Lord, but He also desires we give Him our concerns and tell Him what we need.
1 Peter 5:7 (NLT)
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you.
Philippians 4:6 (NLT)
6 Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.
I too grew up as Catholic and though I learned quite a bit, I went out into the world as an adult and because I was out of the Word for so long, I lost a lot of time in His presence and was in much sin for many years. But I will praise the Lord because He has restored me! He showed me that He had a greater purpose for me when everything seemed hopeless. One area I have asked the Lord to help me in is giving thanks for something new each day and time to reflect. Lately I have took some time to reflect on how blessed I truly am when I see so much division taking place among many. Each of us is being shown something if we step back and take that time to think on the Lord and what He is showing us and we’re commanded to give thanks in all situations as we know everything does work according to God’s plan even if we can’t see it at first. There are many patience tests taking place for the sake of endurance and one thing I have had to do is be thankful of the wisdom the Lord pours out on me to see as He does which I ask Him to do. Everything His children go through, is for a good reason.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 (NLT)
Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.
As times get darker we need to remember the Lord will never leave us or forsake us and we can do anything and everything through Christ who gives us strength. His grace is sufficient for us. Always remember these as we move forward and you will find peace when times seem anything but peaceful.
Philippians 4:13 (NLT)
13 For I can do everything through Christ,who gives me strength.
2 Corinthians 12:9 (NLT)
Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.
In closing I’m happy that Glynda and myself could help you with direction. The decreeing really does help and you’ll find also reading the word aloud even when doing study can help because by saying it you are still decreeing it. Thank you for your warm comments and may Jesus Bless you Sarah!
Hello Sarah,
Decreeing is speaking the Word over yourself, and your life. For example, Isaiah 54:17 (Amplified Bible): In the Name and Authority of Jesus, I plead and pour His Blood over me and my life. I decree and declare that NO weapon formed against me will succeed. And EVERY tongue that rises against me in judgment, I WILL condemn. This [peace, righteousness, security, and triumph over opposition] is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And this is their vindication from Me, says the Lord.
Hi Ray,
I want to thank you & Glynda for that podcast. It helped me & I have prayed or said some of the scriptures like that but that helped shed more light on praying for me as well. I didn’t know that was decreeing. I’ve been praying for a long time but I still felt like I needed further knowledge & direction. So this helped me.
Thank you!
